This week marks the start of Christmas as far as Big Chief Tipis is concerned and we couldn’t be more excited! Amongst numerous private parties and corporate Christmas events in our tipis, we have an installation at the stunning Hoghton Tower in Lancashire ready for their Christmas Meat and Drink Festival this weekend.
During the run-up to this weekend’s festivities, Hoghton Tower planned a Christmas Wreath Making Workshop on the Tuesday night and our Big Chief Hayley, along with a handful of her family and friends, went along to kick start her Christmas DIY decorations. In partnership with The Gilded Lily, guests were treated to mulled wine and mince pies on arrival, followed by a jam-packed evening of wreath making. There was not an ‘oasis’ in sight – instead everyone had to handcraft their own bases with traditional methods using water-soaked straw and moss. After which the bunches of foliage were inserted into the wreath along with dried oranges and apples, pine cones, baubles and a selection of other Christmas-themed additions.
Margaret and Janet from The Gilded Lily had the whole group in stitches throughout the evening and everyone had a fantastic time crafting their wreaths. Everyone was a complete novice and with their patience and guidance, the end results were absolutely stunning! Thank you to Margaret and Janet for being the best hosts and to Lucy from Hoghton Tower for arranging such a great evening.
So…same time next year?
