Emma Smith was the lucky winner of our Love Supreme Festival ticket competition, here’s what she’s got to say about her experience…
“We won! My friends and I (plus 4 adorable under 3s) would be spending 3 jazz-filled days nestled in one of the UK’s most stunning national parks.
As the first festival I’d been to in over 5 years, Love Supreme eased me in gently, then swept me up, spun me round, tickled me ’til I nearly wet myself before serving me an artisan coffee and fresh baked salted caramel brownie for breakfast. Yep. Salted Caramel. For breakfast.
The line-up was great. Eclectic but with some big names like Grace Jones, Kelis, Morcheeba, Burt Bacharach, and The Correspondents. The weather brooded on the first day and putting up our tents in the wind was somewhat of a battle. After a few mini melt-downs (adults not kids) and a G&T (or two) we were unpacked and the sun was out. Game on!
By mid afternoon on Saturday the arena was filled with prosecco, gin and cider-quaffing picnickers. The kids were happily scampering around, I was on my feet dancing and before we knew it we were watching the sun go down and the Main Stage come alive with the gyrating antics of the wonderful Grace Jones.
Love Supreme pass holders were privy to an exclusive area right next to the Main Stage complete with Big Chief Tipis’ Big Hats and a private bar. We chose a perfect spot for Saturday night, wedged between the Victorian helter skelter and Big Chief’s tipis. The kids all fell asleep and as our awesome (if slightly surreal) backdrop lit up for the evening, with the twinkling peaks of the tipis and the fair rides piercing the sunset across the downs, I knew I’d never really want to go home. This momma had so much fun she even managed to stay up past midnight and head out to the after party at the Woodland Blue in the Green Bar. It was the perfect way to end the evening / start the next day…
My friends and I had an awesome time and felt the size of the festival and line up was very well thought out. The extra activities (relaxation zone and kids’ area) were great and the food choices were fantastic. We feasted on burritos, gourmet sausages, wood-fire pizzas, Japanese curry and some midnight pastries that went down a little too easily!
So thanks Love Supreme and Big Chief Tipis. What a dreamy weekend. I can’t wait to go again. Would I change anything? Other than having the Big Chief guys put up my tent… nope :-)!”
