We had a great time down at The National Gay Wedding Show at the weekend and we met some amazing companies. Out of everyone we saw we wanted to share with you our five favourite stands and show you why we loved them so much; not to mention, they would all tie in perfectly with a wedding in a tipi!
Pickled Walnut was our favourite food-orientated company at the show and it seemed like everybody else thought so too as it was jam-packed throughout the day! There was complimentary fizz for the brides and grooms on top of an amazing selection of canapés that we couldn’t stop eating!
Pickled Walnut is a Northern based catering company who focus on personal service and getting to know you. They work with class-leading chefs and have an award winning catering team and together they use locally sourced produce to create a unique ‘just for you’ experience. We loved chatting with them and look forward to working with them in the future.
They also had on display the stunning ‘Living Walls’ from Springbank Flowers – the UK’s leading florist and event decorator – we’d recommend you check them out too.
Shropshire Petals had a fabulous little stall and their display of confetti cones, ribbon tied confetti bags and samples were amazing to look at. Shropshire Petals is like us – a family run business – has fields in Shropshire filled with delphiniums that bloom in the winter and are picked in the summer. The confetti is 100% natural, biodegradable and eco-friendly and when the time comes the flowers are handpicked to minimise bruising and are dried at the fields too. When purchasing you get to choose what style of packaging you want and your colour scheme; whether it is all one colour of small or large petals or a mixture of colours and sizes. We loved having a look around their stall and fell in love with our free sample of confetti that we got too!
The Bombshell Belles were an outstanding act at the weekend! With their 50’s hairstyles and beautiful red dresses; we fell in love with them and their sound. The Bombshell Belles are an act who performs popular music from the 40’s and 50’s however; they also perform other genres and add their own twist on modern day songs too (we were treated to a rendition of Beyoncé in the afternoon!). This act will definitely add a touch of class to your event and they certainly look and sound the part; we even caught them having a glass of fizzy in the tipi.
There were several photo booth stands at the show but this one really stood out for us; we loved the different buses you could choose from and that you could more do more than take photos inside them. Boothtique offer a quality service with friendly staff that are on hand at your event; as well as the booth they send two fully trained attendants to your event to set up and to make sure everything goes smoothly. You can make unlimited visits to the booth throughout the hire period and you get a set of 4 prints per visit; they can even add what text to put on the photo to make the night tailored to your wedding. As well as an extensive prop box your guests can also leave you a video message on your special night; plus all your guests photos can be added to a DVD for you to take home. The extra added touch of the guest book they put together for you, where you can get an extra copy of every photo and your guests can leave you a message next to their picture is a really cute twist. Our baby tipi would be the ideal place to position your photobooth and we can’t wait to have a party with a Boothtique!
Here at Big Chief Tipis we like it when our brides and grooms want to step away from the norm and stand out from the crowd! Cue King and Allen Tailoring who can tailor make a stunning bespoke suit for less than Savile Row! They had a very suave stand with tailored suits and fabric swatches – not to mention their two consultants were looking dapper. King and Allen pride themselves in offering high quality suits with fabrics from Savile Row cloth merchants and offer an exceptional personal tailoring service. Consultants are able to offer expert advice and can guide you through the experience of choosing a bespoke suit. They do this by helping you with choosing the cloth, lining, style and which fit is best for your body shape. After the samples we saw at the Show we’ll sure be sending out other halves in that direction!
We can’t wait to meet everyone at our next wedding show and see what new ideas and inspiration we can find! Catch us next at The National Wedding Show at Manchester Central on the 7th & 8th of February!
